Kitchen in a Petit Ouvrage

Bunker Kitchen

In a kitchen from a bunker called Petit Ouvrage in the northern part of France stands this stove from the Type No 1 BIS, build year 1934 from the company Francois Vaillant.

These old cast iron stove are some remains of the inventory of the French defensive wall, the Magiont Line. It´s always an interesting part of bunker when exploring the Maginot Line today.

In the kitchen, the daily meal for a couple of hundred soldiers was cooked. The kitchens varied in size and appearance from plant to plant.

In some Abris there are bigger kitchen than on this photo. In the Gros Ouvrages are complete other looking stoves.
